(A character trait or quality valued as being always good in and of itself)
Shihan Brian Cyr – The Academy of Martial Arts – Founder
To be a virtuous person your: thoughts, words, and actions must be in alignment. Everyone desires to be virtuous; however, few can maintain this harmony in the face of change. Challenges appear, opportunities arise, and difficulties surface that may ask us to contradict our thoughts, words, or actions. In such cases of conflict it is all too easy to jeopardize virtue. To be a truly virtuous person you measure yourself against a higher standard than you judge others.
“Few men have the virtue to withstand the highest bidder”
George Washington
“He who loved virtue would esteem nothing above it.”
Confucius
“The virtuous man is never a novice in worldly things.”
Marcus Valerius Martialis
